What is a life coach?

Life coaches are trained people who help clients identify personal values and set priorities for their future targets. Life coaches create a plan and accountability to make progress towards those targets and provide support and encouragement throughout the process.

Is life coaching a good fit for you?

If you are an adult of any age or gender who has felt dissatisfied with where your life is going, or maybe where it isn’t going, life coaching may be for you. There are many different types of life coaches—ones who specialize in health and wellness, ones who specialize in employment services, and even ones who focus on development of specific skills to reach specific goals. As a therapeutic life coach, my emphasis is on the overall mental wellness of my clients. I want to help my clients maximize their potential, which is often blocked by deep-seated fears and old, no longer helpful adaptive behaviors, in order to support them as they define their personal values and seek to be their best self. While my previous 13 years of experience has been in the private therapy setting, I do not offer treatment or diagnosis of mental illness according to the DSM-V-TR, nor do I provide assessment services. What I offer my clients is an abundance of experience and understanding free from diagnostic codes and categories.
